Wished to be a Candidate-TSG 2011
As I am getting a lot of queries regarding me not being a candidate for the current Technology Students Gymkhana – 2011 elections for the position of General Secretary Sports and Games, I wish to state the entire sequence of events to clarify on the speculations and to avoid assumptions by anybody who is interested in knowing about my candidature.
I wished to be a candidate for the Technology Students Elections - 2011 contesting for the post of General Secretary Sports and Games. Pursuant to the I got the nomination form and was diligent enough to fill it but I did not fill in the row number 5 stating - “Have you been ever been punished by the institute? If yes, provide details.” and row number 6 of the nomination form relating to seeking information stating “Have you repeated any academic year” as I was not subject to any punishment by the institute and also have not repeated any academic semester I did not fill in the details.
After that I came to know that my nomination form has got rejected because of the above reason stating my nomination form was incomplete. Considering the kind of hard work and the continuous effort I have put in for contesting for this position I gave an application to the appropriate authority requesting to reinstate my candidature and also seeking apology for the mistake I have committed. Pursuant to that the appropriate authority was very kind enough to admit my application subject to the condition that all the Halls and the candidates should agree by signing a ‘No Objection’. The other candidates Abhishek Negi from R.P hall, Pratyush Phatak from M.S. hall contesting for the same position objected for signing the No Objection failing to have a minimal courtesy of sportsmanship, but Nitesh Balal from Nehru Hall was very kind enough to sign the No Objection.
Adding to that except for R.P., R.K., M.S., Azad and S.N. halls and one more hall all the other halls signed the No-Objection.
Pursuant to that because of the objection raised by the above mentioned halls and the candidates my nomination form was rejected finally and I lost a chance of having a fair contesting opportunity. I wished that the persons who have objected for my contesting would have at least considered the true spirit of ‘Sports Man Ship’. But I promise that I shall strive to work hard for the cause of sports and games in the institute.

Totally support the cause!
ReplyDeleteYes Biplab u r ryt!! Other halls shud hav signed that but I think they dont hav courage
ReplyDeleteHv seen your dedication as MMM Hall council member...
ReplyDeleteIts bad fortune that gymkhana has missed B.Tech + second year Law School student ....
Firstly, i like the name of ur website ... It was a bit harsh on u buddy ... and dude ... U r in India.. and not in Europe or US, where winning is based on ur merit but not on others demerits !!! So, thats y, i think ur expectations of the so-called "sportsmanship spirit" was a bit 2 much ...
ReplyDeleteI think its a great misfortune for IIT kgp gymkhana to loose a deserving candidate like Lenin...his zeal, enthusiasm and energy level as a leader has no parlance ...Nonetheless don't be disheartened...What matters most is the start of revolution..
ReplyDeleteThere are two kind of politics. Good and bad. unfortunately IIT Kgp is also infected by bad politics in Gymkhana election. You have already proved your mettle. Good luck for a bright future.
ReplyDeleteA clear example of typical politics in IIT KGP ....
ReplyDeleteLearn from the politics of exchange
ReplyDeleteBut what I dont understand is that if you cant fill a single small stupid form properly, how can you still avert that you could have handled the post of G-Sec efficiently.. while fulfilling all the responsibilities perfectly in light of the events prestigious to IIT as a whole to be held this year...
ReplyDelete(just trying to give the other point of view, please dont take it as challenging your efficiency/integrity)
Politics is never bad, its the people running them are bad.. or else I dont find any reason that though you being the only one to be rejected out of other 6o-65 people filling the forms, it was such a big issue which could not have been addressed...
First 'know' what people are upto and then only decide or comment on their or of others 'spirit'...
If you cant learn from your mistakes, than no one else can help you !!!
@ B P K:- Certainly a valid point. But let this small humanly possible slip apart that you spoke, there is something called as integrity and dedication to each and every small work that you do and that is where Biplab is different from every other fellows that we see around. I can enumerate this with lots of example. All I can say is that he certainly was a deserving candidate and not just a person to fill in a post to equate the power balance of pacts.
ReplyDelete@ Biplab:- There are greater things to come your way comrade..
"hasta la victoria siempre"
I totally agree politics is good and where there is big money people tend to act the way they have acted thats human instincts....but they have lost a highly efficient candidate and hence it is proved by the fear of the opponent party...so they chose to ELIMINATE rather than allowing Lenin to contest....creating a fear in the opponents mind itself is victory!!!!!!!!! for me u r the HERO...
ReplyDeleteOne thing I believe that person named Biplab Lenein shall make revolution. In fact its began!I also believe that you will never stop giving your best because what is inside of the person shall come out and you are full of goodies as much as even one can see it in your eyes!
ReplyDeleteDear Mr. Bpk: You had mentioned the so called mistake made by Biplab in filling up the single stupid "form". As rightly pointed out by Bip in his blog, both the fields he left out were highly ambiguous. Any prudent person could have misinterpreted it. I am sure you have never seen a TSG election nomination form. Please get your facts right before making such strong comments. Kindly refrain from making such irresponsible statements in future. Being a law student I believe you should be more open to interpretations. All I can say is that I feel sorry for you for making such cowardly remarks and that too in a pubic forum. Even if I accept your statement for argument sake, the job of GSec Sports is to not fill up forms but to organise sports events and to enhance the sporting culture of IIT Kgp and we all know, atleast boarders of MMM know what Biplab has done and is capable of doing in that front.
ReplyDeleteWhy there were objections for Biplab's candidature was obvious from the SOP today. The candidates who objected had no credentials whatsoever and came with shit proposals and were brutally exposed. Leave alone, credentials and proposals, they could barely communicate. Biplab would have won hands down if given an opportunity. Biplab, I am telling you, those people might win the elections, they might win the battle but you have already won the war. They conceded defeat to you even before the actual elections by acting the way they did.
ReplyDeleteTo conclude, all I would say is that keep up the good work you have been doing Biplab. The day is not far when you will be rewarded.
hey biplab.. seems some people have really taken rather given different view to my words.
ReplyDeletereiterating, i have never questioned or doubted ur creditibility or ability..
its just that the only flaw u have is being gullible, enough to be chicaned by some non-selfless (thats something which is not u) ppl, for their own personal benefit..
and arun, kindly mark ur words before using words like 'coward' before understanding someone's remarks on such public forum.. I hope u understand this much of law that it may amount to defamation Mr. Law Student !!
though yes i agree that the other candies may not be as 'great' as biplab.. and that if there would have been a 'selection' biplab would be winning hands down.. but dude its elections.. the place jahan kisi ka koi baap bhai nai hota..
aur agar hota bhi hai to dost, har baap ka bhi ek baap hota hai aur uska naam hai 'dadaji'.. so pranam karo aur aage niklo !!!
my advice to you biplab (and i hope the 'others' are reading this bit) is that whether it was an opportunity lost or anything else, what has gone is gone.. no use cribbing about it.. blabbering 'half' information and 'ukhaad'ing 'gade murde' of the same episode would do nothing but open a can of worms.. i hope u understand by what i mean :)
in short, its time to learn from the mistakes and to know the whole story before taking a stand on one side.. suno sabki, karo mann ki.. think straight.. walk upright..
wish u all the best for all your endeavours.. we are always with you my dear friend !!!
Truth is the best defense for defamation buddy
ReplyDeleteFirstly, you should had filled the last 2 rows. They were questions of common sense. However i feel that you deserved the opportunity to contest in spite of the error. There was no necessity for the "No objection" thing and i highly object that rule.
ReplyDeleteHowever you can't blame other candidates for not signing. They are contesting for an election, not a generosity tournament.Personally I would have loved to see you as a Candidate. But in reality you lost fair and stupid.I really appreciate your willingness to work for the cause despite what happened.Best of luck for your future endevors
